Dear Faiz

This is a personal message to my friend, Faiz, from
the city of Segamat, Malaysia. It was only yesterday
that I learned about the terrible flood in Segamat and
other cities in Johor. I am very much concerned about
you, Faiz, as well as your family and friends because
there have been reports of short supplies and even some
violence.

Actually I sent you a letter last week after failing to
contact you by e-mail for some reason (it seems you gave
me a wrong e-mail address). However, it might take a long
time to reach you or even get lost, since there must have
been a lot of confusion going on in the postal service in
Johor. So I decided to post this message on my blog,
hoping you would find it by some chance.

If you manage to read this message by any luck, please
accept my deepest sympathies for you and everyone else.
